Terms of use: Visual Ideas
Last updated: 23 October 2026
These terms are between you and me, Cristian Istrate, an independent developer (private individual) based in Bragadiru, Ilfov, Romania. Criss-Design is the name I publish under; it is not a registered company. They govern the Visual Ideas desktop app and the visual-ideas.eu website.
By installing or using Visual Ideas, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
1. Licence
I grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use Visual Ideas on the computers you control, for personal or commercial video production. You may make videos for yourself or your clients and publish or sell those videos without a royalty or attribution requirement.
You may not:
- redistribute, sell, sublicense, rent or give away the app or a modified copy of it as a video editor or as the starting point for one;
- sell or publish the bundled samples, scenes, sounds or music as stand-alone files;
- remove copyright or licence notices except as allowed by the open-source licences listed in Licenses & credits.
The app contains open-source software. Those components remain under their own licences; nothing in these terms restricts the rights those licences give you.
2. Purchases and refunds
Paid export credits are consumable add-ons purchased through the Microsoft Store. Microsoft is the seller of record for those purchases. Payment, billing, taxes, order history and refunds are handled by Microsoft under the Microsoft Store terms and policies.
I do not process payment cards and cannot issue a Store refund myself. Refund requests must go through Microsoft Store support.
Free monthly exports are tracked locally. The local counter can be reset by uninstalling and reinstalling the Store app; this is an accepted limitation, not a purchased balance. Paid credit balances are kept by the Microsoft Store.
3. Your projects
You keep all rights in the projects, media, voiceover and other files you create or import. You are responsible for having the rights needed to use the media you import and for the videos you publish.
Projects are stored on your PC. You are responsible for keeping backups. The app's backup feature is provided as a convenience and is not a substitute for your own backup policy.
4. No warranty
Visual Ideas is provided "as is" and "as available", to the extent permitted by law. I do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or compatible with every file, driver, device or future Windows version. Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under mandatory consumer law in Romania or the European Union.
5. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, I am not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of projects or loss of data. My total liability for a claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid for the app or the affected Store add-on in the twelve months before the claim. This does not limit liability that cannot be limited by law.
6. Privacy
My privacy policy explains what is stored on your PC and how purchases and support messages are handled. Read it at visual-ideas.eu/visual-ideas/privacy or in the app's Help menu.
7. Governing law
These terms are governed by Romanian law, including applicable European Union consumer law. If you are a consumer, you also have the protections of the law of your country of residence where those protections cannot be waived. The courts of Romania have jurisdiction, without affecting mandatory consumer forum rights.
8. Changes and contact
I may update these terms for future versions of the app. The version in the app at the time you use it applies. Material changes will be published at visual-ideas.eu/visual-ideas/terms.
